case study
Blaustein Residence is a four storey build on a narrow terrace housing plot within a heritage zone in Sydney, Australia. While technicaly a renovation, only a few core walls of the original front basement structure were kept. Even though the client was an architect and competent designer themself, they employed FieldNote Design for modeling and document procurment, along with an informed design consultation. They wanted a contemporary design in the rear, secluded part of the property, contrasted with a facade more complimentary to the adjoining terrace houses; settling on modern re-articulation of the traditional terrace facade. It most prominant feature is a 6 meter clear story with floating mansard roof.
